Home Solar Panel

How to produce your own electricity by building your own home solar panel.

anyone else think its a gud idea for schools 2 use solar panels?

well the normal classroom uses approximately 150-450 60 watt bulbs. multiply that by the number of classrooms in a school and it uses ALOT of energy. not only would solar panels save energy and change a small part of the world, it would save the school hundreds of dollars in energy bills. i hope u see my point.

thats a great idea! there are so much electricity costs, schools would save a lot and there could be more field trips, newer equipment, etc. awesome idea!

answer mine any1? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkDTG8ossNhxlmaO5Q68cX_sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091205175621AABrsJW

Common sense. But with our economy in the crapper right now its not as simple as saying "This will save us money in the long run!" because we cant AFFORD the long run. Besides almost every school in my area uses at least one solar panel, so were taking steps in the right direction.

well, yeah i agree with that but they have those other bulbs and everything so that saves some. But, i agree because there’s a lot of sun usually and everything and we could use those solar panels and we could save a lot of money! so i agree! and start turning all computers off after the days over and turn off everything before you leave to save moey too!

    So i agree!!!

However, it would take A LOT of land for a school to place all of the solar panels, and if it’s cloudy for long periods of time, the solar panels couldn’t produce enough energy.

it would, and my school (which is in it’s first year) has the perfect roof-set up for solar panels.
but the sad thing is that most districts just can’t afford that kind of technology.
it costs roughly $10,000 just for one house. imagine the price for an entire school

I totally agree. The only problem is making solar panels cheaper so everyone can afford them in the first place.

Yes, I agree with you. Using solar panels will:

    1. save the school a lot of money (albeit in the long run),
    2. be contributing to the efforts to reduce ghg emissions to the atmosphere thereby saving the planet from the potential consequences of climate change
